Audrey Lou Allen

Audrey Lou Garner Allen, 83, of Lilburn, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She was born on May 7, 1939, in Greensville County, Virginia. Audrey was a graduate of Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She began her career teaching special education in Greensboro, North Carolina. She moved with her family in 1976 to Lilburn, Georgia where she spent the remainder of her career teaching second grade at Camp Creek Elementary School in Lilburn, Georgia until she retired in 1997.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Edward Garner and Ocie Massey Garner, a sister, Mabel Jetton, and five brothers: Edward Garner, Cecil Garner, Max Garner, Bobby Garner, and Ben Garner. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Joe Allen, and her three children: Joe Allen, II (Melanie), Maria Johnson (Bradley), and Shandi White (Cliff), and nine grandchildren: Robert Allen, Stephanie Farmer (Michael), Jackson Schlinkert, Nicholas Schlinkert, Zachary Schlinkert, Kara White, Quin White, Holly White, and Lucas White. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home in Snellville, Georgia. A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel beginning at 12:00 pm with interment to follow. A reception will follow at Eternal Hills Funeral Home.
