She was born in Portland, Maine, April 28, 1933, to Ethelyn (Collins) and Arthur Withee Sr.
On July 8, 1953, she married Reginald L. Washburn, the love of her life. Together they raised five children.
Virginia worked at Norrwock Shoe and New Balance for 20 plus years as a stitcher. She later worked for DHHS. When she retired she spent her time at home in her flower garden and sewing dolls. She was an excellent seamstress and spent many hours sewing and making crafts to give to others and church fairs.
She was happiest when surrounded by her family during holidays and barbeques around the pool.
She looked forward to her daily rides with her husband, and listening to the cowboy music every night.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Reginald L. Washburn Sr. of Skowhegan, daughters; Pamelia Arsenault and husband Francis of Skowhegan, Cheryl Hendsbee and husband Tom of Madison, Sheila Lyman of Skowhegan, sons; Reginald Washburn Jr. and wife Shelly of Skowhegan, Randy Washburn and wife Janet of Skowhegan, loving grandchildren; Matthew Washburn of California, Nicholas Washburn of Massachusetts, Samantha Lyman and Michael Lyman of Skowhegan, Cade Washburn and Payson Washburn of Skowhegan, sisters; Judy Turgeon, Marthann Walker, and Suzanne Welch, brothers; Arthur and Ron Withee, sister-in-laws; Rachel and Delores Withee, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
