He was born September 24, 1923 in Skowhegan, Maine, the son of Edward C. Graf, Sr., and Bessy (Woodbury) Graf.
He graduated from Skowhegan high School and attended college at Brandice University in Massachusetts and Colby College in Maine.
Since 1968 he was a self-employed accountant working from his home in Canaan.
He was an avid gardener and always had beautiful flowers around his home. He enjoyed wood carving and he had wooden fish of all shapes and sizes all over his house. He also enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his six children, John Graf and Rita of Canaan, Joellen Williams and Jeffrey of Las Vegas, NV, Marshall Graf and Janie of Venus, FL, Richard Graf of Canaan, Julie Hurlbutt-Powers of Lake Placid, FL, Liza Ames and Richard of Canaan, 13 grandchildren, Jeremy Graf, Teri Allen, Bryan Allen, Jennifer Noyes, Teah Graf, Rachel Graf, Lucas Graf, Logan Hurlbutt, Dylan Hurlbutt, Travis Hurlbutt, Naudia Hurlbutt, Barrett Ames and Morgan Ames, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Patricia “Betty” Runnells and husband Roland “Pete” of Gloucester, VA and two brothers Newell Graf of Skowhegan and William Graf of Skowhegan.
He was predeceased by his by his wife Irma Tingley Graf, his brother Edward C. Graf Jr. and his sister Juanita Flannery.
Viewing hours will be held on Friday November 20, 2015 from 11 to 1 at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. he will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Canaan, Maine.
