Mary C. Goodrich, a.k.a. Mary Margaret Goodrich, 88, of Skowhegan, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Redington-Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan. She was born in Skowhegan on March 27, 1927, the daughter of Wilbur G. and Carolyn (Crocker) Chase.
Mary was a graduate of Skowhegan High School, class of 1945 and also a graduate of Skowhegan Business School; later called Beal College. From there she went to work for Depositors Trust Company as a secretary and eventually became a bank teller at Key Bank, Madison Ave. branch; taking a leave of absence to raise her family. She later returned to Key Bank and became head teller until her retirement in 1979. In 1980 she went to Pennsylvania to live and while there she was employed at the Woods School as Administrative Assistant in the Psychiatry and Psychology Dept. She also attended Bucks County Community College. She left there in 1983 and went to work for Parents Anonymous at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ, returning to Maine in 1984. In 1988 she began employment with the U. S. Navy as a civilian and worked for Supervisor of Shipbuilding (known as SUPSHIP, Bath) as a mail clerk, until her retirement in 1993. She also worked part-time at LL Bean at the call center in Waterville and part-time at KVCAP in Skowhegan as a volunteer driver. Mary enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing, and being with her family. She also studied Astrology, which she enjoyed.
She married Kenneth E. Goodrich (Goodridge) June 4, 1949. He died in Sept. 1990. She is survived by one daughter, Carol J. Bigelow and her husband Harold, of Skowhegan, their 2 children, Sarah and her husband Tyler Duran, of Fairfield and Matthew Bigelow of Skowhegan and Farmington, son, Paul K. Goodridge of Wells, ME, son, Richard D. Goodridge and his wife Charlene, of Madison, Richard’s son, Joshua Goodridge and his wife Madelyn, of Skowhegan, Charlene’s 2 children, Roger Corson and his companion Dan Graf, of Madison, Regina Corson and wife Lacey, of Windsor, son, Bruce A. Goodridge of Skowhegan, who lived with his mother and his 2 daughters, Amanda Cha and husband Chris with their son Kaiden Cha currently of Chattanooga, TN and April Goodridge and her daughter Isabella Goodridge currently of Benton, along with a special friend, G.G. Roberts of Skowhegan.
She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Richard W. Chase, and a son Mark Earl Goodridge.
