Lloyd Scott Clark, 65, of Winslow, Maine, died Sunday July 18, 2010, at Inland Hospital, Waterville, Maine. He was born on April 15, 1945, son of Raymond Lewis and Dorothy Lloyd Clark in Wilton, Maine.
He attended schools in Wilton until his senior year and graduated from Winslow High School, class of 1964, he later attended Chaffey Junior College in Alto Loma, CA, studying Correctional Science.
Served in the US Navy for four years during the Viet Nam War and was stationed on the USS Hornet, an aircraft carrier, out of Long Beach, CA, also served time in the Air Force and the Army National Guard.
He was a past member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellow and the Priscilla Rebekah Lodge #69, in Skowhegan and belonged to the VFW Post#1285, in Waterville. He was a life member of the NRA and a past member of the National Sheriff’s and the Somerset County Deputy Sheriff’s Associations.
He served as a deputy sheriff in the Somerset County jail for many years until his health failed and he had to retire. He worked most of his life in law enforcement in CA and ME. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol S. Clark of Winslow, a son; Johnny Raymond of Sparks, NV, daughters; Ashley Marie and Gretchen Lynn of Skowhegan, a step-son; Anthony N. Norwood, Minot, ND, who is serving in the US Air Force, two grandsons; Zachary Raymond and Kien Mitchell of Sparks, NV and one granddaughter, Aleena Love of Sparks, NV, two sisters; Evelyn R. Dutil of Vassalboro, Sandra J. Harrington of Carver, MA, step-sister; Karen Downing of S. Paris, three brother in-laws; Staunton E. Allen, of Wilton, William Sterling of Waldorf, MD, Michael Sterling of Augusta, three sister in-laws; Kay F. Silva of Hooksett, NH, Joyce A. Farnham of Somerville, Gloria Babcock of Pittson, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers Conrad H., N. Barrie, David L. and a sister Edna C. Allen.
Friends may call Tuesday July 20, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 21, 2010 at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Friday July 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. will be held at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
