She was born April 9, 1922, in Skowhegan, Maine, the daughter of Amedee and Aurore (LeBlanc) Couture.
Lillian graduated from Skowhegan High School in the class of 1940.
On September 9, 1946, in Skowhegan, Maine, she married Elmer T. Fall, and they spent 59 wonderful years together until his passing in 2005.
She worked at the American Woolen Mill in Skowhegan for several years. Then she spent many years as a homemaker while raising her children. Lillian went back to work at Gene’s Restaurant as a waitress for several years. After that she worked at Norrwock Shoe Company in Norridgewock in the late 1960’s and worked there until they closed in 1981.
Lillian was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Skowhegan. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, a member of the Faith Sharing Circle in Skowhegan, a member of the Abnaki Snowriders in Madison; and she was a past member of the Lakewood Ladies Golf Association in Madison.
She liked to read and was an excellent seamstress. She often knit for family and charitable organizations. She enjoyed going to harness races at various Maine State Fairs with her husband, and she enjoyed making and eating desserts.
Lillian is survived by her children: Carol Bourgoin and her husband Joseph of Waterville, Virginia Howard and her husband Lionel of Skowhegan, Sandra Carroll and her husband Gordon of Winslow, sister in-law Geneve Fall of Skowhegan, five grandchildren: Laura Leslie and her husband Stephen Gafford, Allison Bowman, Amanda Brooks and her husband Steve, Shawn Carroll, Jessica Lewis and her husband Chris, three great-grandchildren: Acadia, August and Arden, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Water St., Skowhegan, Maine, with a burial to follow at the Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
