Ken is survived by his loving wife, and hero, Amy, and his two children, Annie and Wyatt. Ken is also survived by his parents, Dick and Mary Lou Boss; his sisters, Christine (George) Steger, Susan (Steven) Fletcher; Amy's family, Bill (Mara) Huberlie, Suzanne (Larry) Heffernan, Sara (Randy) White, Fred Huberlie, Allison Huberlie, Elizabeth Huberlie and Lori Huberlie; numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and dear friends will also miss him terribly.
Ken was born in Rochester, N.Y., on Nov. 24, 1964. He attended Syracuse University School of Environmental Science and Forestry with a bachelor's degree in forestry. His passion brought him to Maine in 1990 where held several positions all focusing on the conservation and wise management of the land's forests.
Ken had many joys in his life; his brother-like intimacy with Jesus, the family he adored, and his mission to bring buckets of love into each day. In fact, it is his wish that we all carry on to, "love every day." It is his smile, his sense of humor, his life-embracing joy that inspires us still. Ken left a note for his children. "Apply your heart to tasks of your mind, your results will be thoughtful and Godly. Love, Dad."
A Mass of Christian burial in celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, 15 Pleasant St., Madison.
In lieu of flowers, Ken has asked that donations be made to Hospice Volunteers of Somerset County, P.O. Box 3069 Skowhegan, ME 04976 or The Daughters of Isabella c/o St. Sebastian Church. Arrangements under care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, ME 04976; 474-3357.
