Kathryn Loretta Peters

She was born April 13, 1935 in New Market, New Jersey, the daughter of Elmer J. and Hazel (O’Donnell) Frace.

Kathryn graduated from Metuchen High School in the class of 1953.

She married James J Peters on July 24, 1954, in Piscataway, New Jersey, he passed away in 1964.

Kathryn started working at Millers Market in New Jersey where she met the love of her life. She worked various jobs throughout her life, so she could raise her four children on her own with love and humor.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and anyone she met became family. Some of her greatest joys in life were making other people smile and laugh. She enjoyed a good talk with anyone and everyone over a cup of coffee, especially Ken.

She is survived by children, James J. Peters and his wife Deborah of Skowhegan, Carol Corson of Skowhegan, Jon Peters and his wife Pam of Burnham, Sandra Jackson and her husband Kyle of Canaan; two brothers, Elmer Frace and his wife Lillian of Canaan, James Frace and his wife Carol of Monmouth; ten grandchildren, Shawn, Jimmy, Jaime, Danny, Bobby, Ryan, Nicole, Michael, Danielle, Rylee; seven great-grandchildren, Deven, Alexis, Wyatt, Maci, Cooper, Tucker, Morgan; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, one daughter Cathy Gurney and one brother Wally Frace and her son in-laws Skip Corson and Daniel Gurney.

Viewing hours will be held on Friday June 3, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine, with a graveside service to be held on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 10:00 am at the East Skowhegan Cemetery in Skowhegan, Maine.
