Born in Skowhegan on July 14, 1931, she was the daughter of Roland P. and Beatrice (Calway) Perkins.
June’s son Wayne was her world and she devoted her life to him. They enjoyed going out to eat together at Burger King, Ken’s Restaurant and for Chinese food. She attended the Skowhegan area schools and worked for over 20 years at Solon Manufacturing, where she retired from. Growing up she and her sister Jackie were Girl Scouts.
She loved animals and enjoyed her many cats that she had over the years. Two special cats that she had were Sinatra and Popeye. In earlier years, she enjoyed riding to the Coast of Maine with her sister Jackie. They were always together and loved attending the Skowhegan Fair. Once June was in Cedar Ridge, her cousin Jeanine Casey would visit her several times a week.
June enjoyed her nieces and had a special fondness for her nephew David Thurston, who grew up in the same area as Wayne.
