Frank Edmund Tripp, 73, of Madison, died peacefully at Redington-Fairview General Hospital on January 30, 2016 with family by his side. He suffered debilitating illness and is now free from that suffering, safe in the arms of our loving God.
He attended New Portland schools and graduated from Central High School. He married Donna Arsenault in 1964 and together they raised two daughters. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Madison Paper Industries and retired after more than 20 years of service.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, anything where he could be outside and active. He shared his love for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Irene (Collins) Tripp, his brothers Malcolm and Leslie Tripp, and sisters Nathalie Dubay and Ruby Harvey. He is survived by his two daughters, Nicole (and Ronald) Richardson and Allison (and Jerome) Marcoux, all of Madison, his sister, Helen Bryant of Wilton, and two brothers, Donald Tripp of North Anson, and Glen Tripp of Dixfield.
His seven grandchildren, Coady Richardson of Millhall, PA, Sophie Handrahan of Sebago, Kaeson Richardson of Madison, Christina Richardson of Madison, Levi Richardson of Kingfield, Elizabeth Richardson of Farmington, and Donica Richardson of Madison, loved him dearly and will miss his council and encouraging words. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, longtime friend Albert Coro, and many cousins including Marcia Collins who stood by him throughout his illness and truly made his life better by being a part of it.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
Arrangements are under the care of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the March of Dimes to support spina bifida research.
