David was a proud WWII Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Lavaca APA 180. He piloted LCVP landing craft in the Pacific. After his service, David worked for Pfizer for many years until his retirement in 1986.
David loved to go hunting with his bow. He could also be found helping out at his church when he was able. David continued to stay busy after his retirement by mowing his lawn into his early 90’s.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by two children, Dawn Poplawski and David Dunlap.
David is survived by his wife, Bernice (Southworth) Dunlap, with whom he recently celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary; his daughter, Judy Tremblay and her husband Bob; son, Timothy Dunlap and his wife, Heidi; son in law, John Poplawski and daughter in law, Carrol Dunlap. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Friday, August 25, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery on Rte 23 in Canaan.
