I had known Max for @50 years, mainly from when he was organist and choir director at the Morton Grove Community Church.  He was an inspired leader, mentor, and friend.  He introduced me to the Faure Requiem, the Britten Ceremony of Carols, and he accompanied me numerous times when I ventured out as very young cellist to play in church.  I attribute those wonderful early experiences in part to my adult successes of winning cello positions with the Cleveland Orchestra and, finally, the Chicago Symphony.  Thanks again for everything, Max!!!  RIP

My favorite teacher.  I took full advantage of his open door long after I had his class.  Brilliant, a dedicated Educator, and a generous spirit, he helped shape my taste in literature and my world view.  Rest well old friend, your legacy is secure.

Max was a great teacher and an inspiration to many students who sought to find their literary voice. My condolences to his family.

Mr. Parmley was my English teacher at Reavis High School. He helped guide my interest in the printed word; realizing at an early age I wanted to be a writer. I've been an Editor-in-
Chief of my beauty magazines for over 36 years. Thank you Mr. Parmley for your tough and exacting love of the English language.

Mr. Parmley was one of the best teachers I had at Reavis High School. I and my friend Judy Guzy were in is Freshman Honors Class. He made learning very enjoyable!! I am also a teacher due to his guidance and caring. He enjoyed helping his students to really enjoy Literature. He will be missed by many!

So sorry to hear of Max's passing. My daddy, Harry Seibert, son of Neva and John Seibert, was a cousin of Max. I have fond memories of visiting Aunt Mable's home in Hutchinson which is when I met Max. I am #3 out of 4 daughters born to Harry and Betty. Memories are the legacy of a loving family.
