Tom Karavangelos

Anastasios “Tom” Karavangelos fell asleep in the Lord, peacefully and surrounded with love, on December 16, 2024. Tom was born on April 4, 1935, in Velventos, Greece to Klianthis Karavangelas and Efthalia Chanakas Karavangelas. He is the beloved husband of Agatha Karavangelos. Loving and adored father of Efthalia Koutris and father-in-law of Ellen Karavangelos. Dearest brother of Eleftherios (Lola) Karavangelos. Adored grandfather of George (Anna Christina) Koutris, Stavroula (Joshua) Andre, Agathonia Karavangelos, Elizabeth Karavangelos, and Anastasios Karavangelos. Cherished and dearly loved great grandfather Maria Koutris. He is preceded in death by his son, Klianthis “Lance” Karavangelos, and son-in-law, Soterios Koutris.

Relatives and friends are welcome to the funeral visitation for Tom Karavangelos, on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 9:00am to 9:45am. The funeral service will follow at 9:45am. Both will be held at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Washington, D.C., located at 721 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20905. Interment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland.
