Sandra Ellen Rosen, passed away on August 8, 2021, in Bethesda, Md. Born on April 13, 1947, in Washington, DC, she was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School, Montgomery College and educated at the Corcoran School of Art. She was an accomplished artist and Emmy award-winning photographer shooting for the Republican National Committee during the Reagan Bush White House. She worked for the Evening Star as a sports photographer on the sidelines for the Redskins games. Her work on “Uncle Sam is a Slumland” earned her an Emmy for television investigation. She simply could do it all ranging from action shots to portraiture.
Sandy is survived by her brother Jeffrey Lerner Rosen, of Reston, Va.; and her aunt, Harriet Chaikin of Silver Spring, Md. Her loving parents, Mildred and Irvin Rosen passed away prior to Sandy’s death as did her grandparents Jenny and Samuel Lerner of Washington DC. She was admired for her creativity and talent which she shared with us through her photography.
Graveside services are scheduled at Mount Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad.
