Rob was born in Germany but his family moved to El Paso , Texas, in his childhood . He had six brothers and sisters and three half sisters .
Rob had an extraordinary gift for speaking and writing . He won numerous awards for forensics during his high school years including first place at the national level . He was interviewed for his win by Voice of America .
Rob was raised in a military family and joined Air Force for a time . In the 80s he moved to Maryland where he worked in radio doing commercials and had his own overnight radio show . He also was a certified fitness trainer and trained competitive bodybuilders.
Fate brought him together with Forbes in 1989 with whom he would share the remaining 33 years of his life .Working together, Rob became editor and designer for Forbes' books, most of which achieved bestselling status .
Rob's kitchen was his haven of creativity. He had a special talent for crafting culinary masterpieces. From scratch, he conjured magnificent meals for people's birthday, and holidays, infusing every dish with love and creativity. His culinary skills extended to mixology, turning drinks into memorable experiences.
Rob had many interests and hobbies including tennis, bodybuilding, science fiction, aquariums, birds and plants.
Thinking about Rob's fondness for cigars and the peaceful times he spent outside on the patio with his cat, Arya, he was a man who found comfort in life's simple joys and who left a lasting mark on our hearts.
