Richard (Dick) Shober, age 76, of Laurel, MD passed away on Monday, January 6th, 2020. Dick was born January 26th, 1943 in Ridley Park, PA to Samuel and Irma Shober. He was the youngest of 3 sons.
Dick graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD in 1960 and was a member of the Sleepers car club during High School. After High School he served in the Navy from 1966 to 1970, much of the time on the USS Wasp (CV-18) aircraft carrier. After leaving the Navy Dick worked for several companies, most notably Control Data Systems and BAE. In his spare-time Dick enjoyed collecting stamps and playing pinochle with his family and best friend, Paul Wright.
Dick married Barbara Stewart in 1965 and they had 2 sons. They divorced in 1987.
Dick is survived by his 2 brothers: Robert and Walter Shober, 2 nephews: Charles and Steven Shober and his niece, Susan Shober. He is also survived by his 2 sons: John and David Shober and his 2 grandsons: Luke and Tyrus Shober.
