Reva Glaze

Reva Glaze, age 79, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born to the late David and Amy Morgan, November 9, 1943, in Jamaica, West Indies.

Reva married the late Lloyd Glaze, and they raised three children, Marie, Elizabeth and Denise in Jamaica before migrating to the United States. She migrated to the US in 1976 in order to make a way for her family. Her husband and children joined her shortly after. She always referred to it as a sacrifice. And it was.

Reva enjoyed baking, creating indoor and outdoor flower gardens, and celebrating events with family.

She also traveled within the US, and to France, Israel and Canada.

Reva was passionate about education and encouraged her children to become college educated. She was extremely proud when her daughters, Marie and Elizabeth, went to what she called "far away college". While attending Binghamton University, Elizabeth encouraged Mom to attend college herself. Reva eventually graduated with an associate degree from LaGuardia Community College. Her youngest daughter, Denise, followed shortly after with her associate degree, then her bachelor’s, and then her master’s degree. Reva's grandchildren would also become college graduates.

Reva is survived by her children Marie Andrews, Elizabeth Glaze, and Denise Glaze; grandchildren, Marel (Reza) Yassi and, Ashley Andrews; siblings Lurine Hoskins and Maureen Rodrigues; sister-in-law Gen Morgan; nieces and nephews Michael Rodrigues, Michelle (Cliff) Allen, Andrew (Shantel) Davis, David Morgan, Nicole (Kelvin) Agard, Dwane (Tami) Morgan, and Michael Morgan; and many cousins, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brother David Morgan and nephew Gary Davis.

A visitation for Reva will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. A committal and burial will occur Friday, September 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at All Souls Cemetery, 11401 Brink Road, Germantown, Maryland 20876.
