Patrick Joseph Stanton of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away Oct. 3, 2024, at the age of 74, after a short stay in the hospital.
Patrick was born in Washington, D.C., and attended Gonzaga College High School. He attended the University of Maryland at College Park. He worked at AT&T in the 1970s and 1980s and at the Library of Congress in the 2000s to the 2020s. He was an avid player of board and card games, especially chess, Othello, and bridge.
His marriage to Faye Strunk Stanton ended in divorce.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Helen (Eisterhold) Stanton and his brother William Stanton. He is survived by siblings Mary Catherine Fibich (Bruce), Robert Stanton Jr., Sean Stanton (Dawn Finnen), and Lynn Stanton and stepsons Michael (Eu) and Kyle (Leslie) Strunk, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.
