It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Munzer Nawaf Murshed. Munzer passed away on Thursday April 21st due to complications from glioblastoma, a devastating form of brain cancer, following his heroic 8-year battle with the disease. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Paula, as well as his dog Cali; both of whom he adored.
Born in Zarqa, Jordan on February 7th 1972, Munzer was the firstborn of three children, Roni his brother, and Rana his dearly departed sister. Munzer’s parents, Nawaf and Wadia, immigrated and relocated the family to the United States in the mid 1970’s where they created roots in Arlington, Virginia.
Munzer, as did his siblings, matriculated through Arlington Public Schools. Upon graduating from Washington Lee High School, Munzer attended The George Mason University. After some exciting life stops in New York City, Chicago and Pasadena, Munzer returned home to the D.C. area where he reconnected with and ultimately married his lovely wife Paula Murshed, née Canard. Munzer had an abundant love for the Lord, his nieces and nephews, and enjoyed cooking, creating art, and even deejaying when he had a chance.
His generosity, infectious laugh and gentle spirit will be sorely missed.
A visitation for Munzer will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904.
