The family of Alan C Robinson Leslie’s eldest brother sends our prayers for our dearly departed Leslie.Our memories of childhood through adulthood are ever present in our minds.
We do daily remember the simple joys we shared at home on Bent Street Werk en Rust., Georgetown ,Guyana.
We join the entire Robinson family in participating in this remembrance.

Growing up in a home with Leslie and 2 other brothers I remember playing cricket when I was 12 years old. I remember Leslie escorting me to my first evening party. I remember him changing  or pumping up my bicycle tyres when they were flat. In later years after University I visited the US and stayed with Leslie and Ingrid who drove me around, especially to the Shopping areas and Malls. I pray that his Soul is resting in peace with the Lord.

It was my good fortune as the liaison officer to welcome Leslie Gordon Robinson (Robo) to the Permanent Mission of Guyana to the UN in New York circa 1975. Leslie arrived from GT, with his family, wife Ingrid, and sons Dirk and Damian... son Darren years later completed the troika. Initially they stayed at a residence on East 39th St in Manhattan called the Lyden, and then moved to the Waterside Plaza Apts on the Eastside. I had not known Leslie before but we immediately became more than just colleagues, we became close friends.
Leslie immediately settled in at the UN and forged a stellar career as a diplomat, representing the Government of Guyana with distinction. His fluency in Spanish and French allowed him to advance Guyana's positions and status with rare efficacy in various committees in one of the world's most iconic international institutions.  Needless to say Leslie's contribution on behalf of the Government of Guyana as he served in the Guyana Foreign Service in New York, Havana, and Washington alongside such stalwarts as Rashleigh Jackson, Rudy Insanally, the late Noel Sinclair, Henry Douglas, Cedric Joseph, Rudy Collins and others will long be remembered in the annals of the Guyana Foreign Service. 
Leslie will be missed. Fare thee well my friend. Rest in eternal peace.
