Lavinia Elizabeth (Betty) Denhard-Olson, age 87, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She is predeceased by husband Gilbert Michael Denhard (father of her children), and 2nd husband Clifford Olson. She is survived by her children: Michael Denhard, Coleen Sanderson and her husband Terence, Dale Denhard and his wife Gina, and Bradley Denhard and his wife Lucia. Lavinia has 6 grandchildren: Candace, Courtney and Bret Sanderson, and Vittoria, Alessia and Luca Denhard. Lavinia is the Aunt of Darlene Sparacino, Great-Aunt of 3, and Great-Great Aunt of 6 children.
Lavinia was born in Maryland and grew up in Wheaton, MD. She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School. She married Gilbert Michael Denhard in 1955, and raised their family of four children in the Oakview neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD. Lavinia was involved with multiple volunteer activities at St. Camillus church. She worked at the St. Camillus Rectory and other administrative office jobs such as the University of MD. She was also a professional cake decorator and floral designer.
Lavinia Elizabeth (Betty) Denhard-Olson lived a full life sharing her love and talents with her family, church and community. Her family was with her in her final days as she passed peacefully.
A visitation for Lavinia will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM followed by the service from12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. A committal and burial will occur at 2:00 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20906.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lavinia Elizabeth's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
