Kai Fu Lam, born in the late 1940s, passed away on July 23rd, 2024. He grew up in China and lived in Hong Kong before immigrating to the United States. He lived in Detroit before settling in the Washington, DC area.
He was a devoted and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He worked tirelessly, making sacrifices in order to pave the road for a better life and future for his family. Despite challenges and hardship throughout his life, he remained resilient and continued to display kindness and generosity to others. He was an intelligent individual who provided complimentary handyman services to his children, friends, and relatives.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and preparing meals for them. During his leisure time, he read the newspaper, watched television, and listened to music. He treasured moments at the beach and traveling with his family.
He is survived by Ngan Lee (wife), Wai Lam (son), Choi Lam (daughter), and granddaughters Samantha Lam, Suzanna Lam, and Kristine Lam.
A visitation for Kai will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at George Washington Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road Adelphi, Maryland 20783.
