John S Welch of Poolesville Maryland Died 8-27-23 at his home in Poolesville in the care of his ex-wife and friend Veronica Masssie from Parkinsons, he was 75 years old. John was born in Washington DC to James V Welch and Milady N Welch. He is survived by his sister Jamie Jackson and brothers Joe and Jim Welch. John received a BS degree from the U of MD in business / accounting. He was a Vietnam Vet and worked as a Senior Budget Analyst at the Department of Justice until retiring in 2003. John was a biking enthusiast who crewed on several Race Across Americia’s, Route 66, Pac Tour and Death Valley to name a few. John participated in many races himself. John continued bike riding up until 4 weeks before his death. John was a member and volunteer at the Issac Walton League. John will be buried at Arlington Cemetery at a later date.
