Passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2021. She is survived by her devoted husband, Antonio Volpe, children, Tina Israel (Jerome), Carlo (Virginia), and Mario (Michele) Volpe, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Giuseppina (Pina) Musolino Volpe (94) was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy. She came to the United States in 1947 to join her father in Washington, D.C. She attended business school here and worked at the Italian Embassy as a secretary. In November 1956 she married Antonio Volpe, who remained the light of her life for all her years. In 1972 Tony and her brother Joe established Volpe & Musolino Inc. and Pina worked as a secretary for the business during its early years as it became a successful stone contracting business, contributing to the building of many monuments and historical sites in the Washington, D.C. area. Pina enjoyed making delicious meals for her family and friends. She, along with Tony, was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed going to the “coffees” after Sunday Mass visiting with friends from the Holy Rosary community. She is predeceased by her parents Domenico and Domenica Musolino, sister Domenica Musolino Sciarrone, and brother Giuseppe (Joe) Musolino. She is survived by her devoted husband, Antonio Volpe, children Tina (Jerome) Israel, Carlo (Virginia), and Mario (Michele) Volpe, grandchildren Jeffrey and Philip Israel, Kelley (Stephen) Souder, Marc (Michaela) Volpe, Nicholas and Alyssa Volpe, six great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Maria Musolino and many nieces and nephews.
