She was born in Durham, North Carolina to George and Callie May Godley, and attended the nursing program at Rex Hospital in Durham North Carolina. She graduated in 1956, where she worked as a registered nurse until her marriage in 1957, to Dr. Billy G. Bass.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockville for over 50 years, and was part of the church choir for over 45 years. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She was the loving mother of 5 daughters, their spouses, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 13th at Hines Rinaldi, 11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD from 4-8pm.
A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Rockville, 55 Adclare Road, Rockville, MD on Thursday, April 14th at 9:30 am. She will be interned at Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association in her memory.
