You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.  We cherish memories of Mrs. Davis' grace, dignity, and inner strength.  Her living example of faith, hope and love made us--and all who knew her--feel blessed.  We know you miss her, and hope that you find comfort in her eternal love for you.

It has been my privilege to spend time with Sister Florence for the last year and a half of her life. I often told her that she is a testimony to God’s faithfulness to His word. For God’s promise is ‘If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians.’ At 98 1/2 when she died there was no sickness or disease in her body. 
She was not a talkative person but her favorite expression was the ‘The Lord be with you.’ She lit up when I read the Bible and sang hymns to her. She often bobbed her head or hummed along. Truly she loved the Lord and the Lord loved and kept her under His wing for 98 1/2 years. 

She’s asleep in Jesus waiting the call of the life giver.


Grandma,
You were always there for me during my bad days and good days. Thanks for all your love and teaching with right and wrong. Your smiles and blessings were always great when I would see you. It would make my day. Your memories will be with me always. The Lord has you in is arms now and I have you in my heart. Love always, Paul (grandson)

Dear Grace and family - 
I am forever thankful for that 'chance' meeting in front of the People's Drug Store, when Florence took my Ingathering pamphlet, went home, read it, and then walked back to find me to ask questions about it. It was the beginning of a wonderful friendship between us and our families.  Florence was a such a kind, beautiful, strong, courageous and talented lady, and had such a sweet voice and laugh.  She was deeply devoted to her family, and I know this is a difficult loss for you. I am honored to have known her, and to be blessed with your friendship. We  remember so many happy times with Florence and Grace.    There were those many church camp outs, the family gatherings and potlucks.  She enjoyed walking everywhere. Always refusing a ride.  She loved tending her house plants which she referred to as "her babies."Florence was always there, her quiet presence enjoying it all.    Christ was the center of her life and  and she lived as His personal friend.   We are honored that  we were her friends.  

Two quotes come to mind when I think of Florence.  The first is from C.S. Lewis, “He who has God & everything else has no more than he who has God only.”  Her best friend was Jesus and knowing the depths of His presence, as she did, made her a woman who possessed far more in life than almost anyone I’ve ever met.  
The second quote is Tennyson, “More things are wrought by prayer, than this world dreams of.”  While it is impossible to fully know from this side of eternity, I have no doubt that history was changed and countless lives were saved, enriched and elevated by the fervent intercession of this faithful and loving woman.  I count it amongst my greatest privileges to have known her, been hugged by her, challenged and prayed for by her.  I will never forget her great dignity and strength, and especially not her smile.

Dear Grace and Family, 
I am so sorry to hear your grandma has passed away. I have very fond memories of her going back to elementary school. She was always so soft spoken, kind, and never spoke a negative word. She lived a long life that was dedicated to following God’s word — a true example for all of us. Take comfort in all the loving memories.

Dearest Grandma Davis, 
Time is filled with swift transitions but you built your hopes and life on things eternal. Your love for God and  wonderful granddaughter, Grace, and her family were anchored in Jesus. I was blessed, beyond measure, to be present with you and felt the presence of God’s holy angels calling you to rest. While we mourn your absence on this earth, our weeping will linger only for the night. Our joy will come in the morning and we look forward to meet you at the eastern gate and walk the streets of gold on that beautiful morning!

Dearest Mrs. D!  

My fondest memories are of Mrs. D's AMAZING bear hugs!  A big strong squeeze of an embrace that almost took your breath away and simultaneously left you imprinted with her depth of love and affection that transcended any words.

The very long walks she took well into her eighties were a huge inspiration and testament to both her inner and outer strength and grace.  Those God-given qualities certainly played a massive role throughout her life.  It is impossible to fully understand and appreciate the beauty, faith, and resiliency she was able to express in raising her wonderful granddaughter, Grace Butler, from childhood.  We know it was all God's Blessing and we are all so privileged and grateful to have been able to experience such a giving, accepting, and loving soul.

Thank You Dear God for Blessing Mrs. D's dear soul as she is free in her True Christ Spirit, in Your Divine Unconditional Love...Forever.  

With just a few words, “May the Lord Be With you”,  Florence was able to personify what she was all about.  She knew what it felt like to have the Lord by her side and she wanted others to feel that too.  Her countenance and modest home were a witness to how humble and unselfish she was. God rewarded her healthy, simple lifestyle with longevity because she was a witness of Him.  Through her life’s devotion her grand-daughter Grace thrived and is propelling God’s work forward by being a wonderful friend to others. I hope Florence had the Creation magazine pictures in her mind when she envisioned heaven.
