Delores Myriam Rodriguez, age 82, passed away Saturday July 15, 2023 following a lengthy hospital stay. Myriam was born in El Salvador on September 23, 1940. She became a U.S. citizen in 1987 and lived in the Wheaton/Silver Spring area for almost 40 years.
Myriam passed away on July 15, 2023 at Suburban Hospital, following a lengthy stay medical event and lengthy stay. Myriam was preceded in death by her son, José Rodriguez, Jr., and her husband José Rodriguez, who worked at Westland Printing in Burtonsville for many years. Jose Jr. attended Montgomery Blair High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Myriam worked as an office secretary, receptionist, translator, and private nanny. She last worked at the Jewish Council for the Aging in Rockville, Maryland before her retirement.
In the mid-1980s through the 1990s Mrs. Rodriguez cared for the Briefel family sons and was a loving second mother to Jason and Steven, getting them to preschool and school. She was an important member of the Briefel family for 38 years and stayed connected to the Briefel family and their extended family until her passing.
Myriam enjoyed travel and would visit her home, cousin Mr. José Nuila, and friends in El Salvador when she could. She also had fond memories of a trip to Israel that she took with a church group.
Myriam will be forever remembered as a hard-working, warm, and loving kind soul who enjoyed spending time with family and friends for birthdays, holidays, and social gatherings.
