Just received news of Catherine's passing, so sorry to hear she passed away. My  deepest condolences to the family.

I graduated High School  with Cathy . I'm so sorry to here about her passing . Sending my deepest sympathies to the entire Spencer family .

I did not know Cathy well but met her several times through a mutual friend. She was a very warm person and full of life. I was shocked to hear of her passing. She was also extremely brave... May the memories of her comfort you in this very difficult time . The world was a much better place hsving her in it.

Cathy was a wonderful and generous person to know.  She was sweet and nice to all.  I feel blest to have known her.  Sharing in your sadness.

Rick and I extend our sincere sympathy to Cathy's family. I have known Cathy for over 30 years as a friend and co-worker and will miss her great smile, the sound of her laughter, and the warmth of her friendship. She was a beautiful human being, gone from this earth much too soon.

I am so happy to have known you Cathy, our family scribe, historian, and cherished keeper of the family picnic tradition with your great Dad, our uncle Jim.  Thanks for the strong hug at that family picnic just last month - I already miss your warm smile and good humor.

My deepest condolences to Cathy's family, friends, and co-workers. I worked with her several years and remember her as a sweet and kind woman. She will be deeply missed.

I am happy to say it was a pleasure to work with Cathy Spencer. She trained me in medical claims processing. One day out of the blue she asked if I believed in angels.  I thought it was an unusual question; I said that I did.  A few days later, she gave me a card with an angel pendant.  It was a sweet gesture.  We had similar yet different interests. I shared with her my knowledge of photography. She was crafty in scrapbooking, jewelry making, and collections.  If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have known that the Cat's Meow is a village.  She would have been happy to know that I've added a few more to those she gave me. She shared with me the previous day's calendar quotes that helped her get through those days as a new manager.  A favorite of mine was a picture of a little girl sitting in a tree reaching for an apple. It said, â€œGo out on the limb, which is where the fruit is.â€ That's what I did. I returned to school to complete my degree.  She gave me the book â€œDon't Sweat the Small Stuff.â€ Oh my goodness, for a small office we were inâ€¦small STUFF. I learned from Cathy that when you are the better person, you will have the greatest heart.  And just like the angels she believed in, she did have the greatest heart. While Cathy and I had lost touch with one another over the years, I thank her for giving me a piece of her heart.

 I did not know Cathy that well but knew her work for myself and other members of I.B.E.W. 26 which was and is so valuable and to our benefit. I also know that she was a great friend and traveling companion to Cindy and Laurie. A true professional and of high value to all who knew her and benefited from her work

Cathy was a beautiful friend. She had a great artistic ability and used it to express herself thru her photography, journaling, and scrapping. I loved the times she and I would head out to do our exploring and adventuring. That's when Cathy would be truly spontaneous. We shared many laughs and I will always cherish the memories we created together.

Ken and I are so sorry for your loss.  Cathy had a special spirit about her, and her family was everything to her.  I was just sorting through some old papers last week and came upon a lovely note that Cathy had written to me, thanking me for something I had said in a sermon that had touched her.

My sincerest condolences to the family.  Cathy had a wonderful, gentle spirit.  Her calm and quiet support was a great encouragement to me and other members of the Prince George's Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).  I remember how she spoke of her nieces and nephews with joy and love.  May her soul rest in peace.
