Barbara Ann (Taylor) Hammond passed away October 3, 2017, after a long illness, Barbara was born August 11, 1940 to Benjamin and Elsie Taylor. Barbara Ann was a Washingtonian, who, Graduated from McKinley Technology High School, in Washington, D.C. She was one of the first Black students to attend McKinley High School when the Government ordered integration of all Washington, D.C. public Schools. After graduating from McKinley, Barbara joined the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, where she remained for 33 years of impeccable service. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years Alfred George Hammond, daughter, Stephanie Lynn Hammond, and adored granddaughter Perry A. Thomas, and a Sister-In Law Hope E. Settles. Surviving family is Sister Brenda L. Stevenson, Brother Michael Anthony Taylor, Niece Lisa R. Ransom and a cousin Karen Lee Nelson and a host of friends and family to mourn her passing. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hines Rinaldi Funeral Home on Friday 13, 2017 at 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. Viewing from 11:00 a.m. Service to start at 12:00 noon.
