Janet Nelson

Born July 7, 1932, in Canalou, MO., to the late John Tharp and Vearnies Landers Tharp Lumsden.

On December 17, 1947 in Piggott, AR., she married Doyle Nelson, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2015.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James and Emmy Nelson of Watertown, TN.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Annette and Allen Payne of Sikeston, MO., and Linda and Jackie Bly of Watertown, TN.; four sisters, Lena Adams of Dexter, MO., Phyllis Griffin of East Chicago, IN., Faye Spencer of Canalou, MO., and Rita Johnson of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Griffin and Bonnie Vent; and two great granddaughters, Rebekah Faith Nelson and Aaliyah Jocelyn Nelson.

Visitation will be Thursday April 4, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. with Bro. Mike Cartwright, Pastor of Canalou Assembly of God church in Canalou, MO., officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.
