Helen Louise James

She was born September 21, 1934, in Amber, OK. to the late Charles and Lillie Howarth Wing.

She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO.; in her earlier years she loved playing softball and she enjoyed working in her flower garden. She had worked at Bell Telephone Company for fifteen years; she later assisted her husband working on the family farm.

On November 6, 1953 in Hernando, MS. she married O.J. James, who preceded her in death on May 27, 2002.

Other survivors include: one son and his fiancée, Larry James and Lauri Noles of Sikeston, MO.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna Fox of Charleston, MO. and Julie and Tod Griffin of Carterville, IL.; she was Nana to five grandchildren, Ali Fox, Maggie Williams, Lindsey James, Devin James and Alex Griffin; three step grandchildren, Ashley Carr, James Griffin and Wade Griffin; two great-grandchildren, Aubri Williams and Camille Williams; three step great-grandchildren, Lacie Carr, Rhyan Carr and Madalyn Griffin; one sister, Murlene Gilbow of Nashville, TN. and many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Alexis Raine Sonnenberg; one son-in-law, Shelby Fox; three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO., Bro. Kenny Bollinger, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO., officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.
