He was born on February 7, 1942, one of seven brothers and sisters to the late Andy Lee Adams, Sr. and Bertha Mae (Bullard) Adams.
Together with several of his brothers, Guy Dale ran Farm and Ranch sporting goods store and Texaco auto center in downtown Newport for many years. Whether at work, home, or in the community, he welcomed everyone and never met a stranger. He also enjoyed being outdoors, his horses, sports, fishing and hunting. He loved his God, his church, his family and his work. In conversation he was soft-spoken, and if asked for his advice, he often offered a simple answer after a thoughtful pause. There was no judgment and lots of love. He served as a deacon at the Holden Ave Church of Christ for many years. He always knew where his eternal home would be and was not hesitant to ask do you know where you are going.
Surviving is his devoted wife, Linda Adams; daughter, Deanna (Bob) Crowley; son, Allen Dale Adams; grandson, Hunter (Allison) Crowley; and loving sister, JoAnne Burgess.
A private family memorial service is planned.
