Connie was born on December 10th, 1947, in Cairo, IL to parents Charles and Eugenia Royal.
She lived a wonderful life that she devoted directly to her family. To know her was to love her. She was a faithful and fiercely protective wife, mother, nana, sister, and daughter. She had a way of being both welcoming and terrifying at the same time. Her charismatic personality made it so that every trip to Walmart lasted three hours or more due to how many people stopped and talked to her.
She loved gossip sessions on her porch where she could watch her birds and smoke cigarettes, chocolate covered raisins, a good karaoke session, talking about her time as a stewardess, listening to music, her children and grandkids, and last but not least Fox News and Donald Trump.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eugenia Royal of Malden; sister Marilyn Douglas of Malden; daughter Stephanie Hess of Sikeston; and brothers in law Ron Lloyd and Jack Douglas.
Connie is survived by her amazing husband Andy Hess of Sikeston; daughter Andrea Hess of Sikeston; son Drew Hess (Stacy Williams) of Sikeston; grandchildren Claudia Neal, Dalton (Michaela) Davis, Barrett Davis (Sophia Carter) and Hayden Hess all of Sikeston; great-grandkids Wyndsor Neal and Wylder Neal of Sikeston, Nash Davis of Sikeston; sisters Sharon Lloyd of Quincy IL and Charla Royal of Campbell; honorary granddaughter Lauren Mayes of Sikeston, and her loving dog, Snickers.
