Born July 17, 1946, in Blytheville, AR., to the late William and Dorothy Mullis Gentry.
On January 28, 1988 in Sikeston, MO., he married Eunice Gates Gentry who survives of the home.
He served in the United States Army and Worked for the Sikeston post office for 42 years where he was known as the Bubble Gum Postman.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Laura Mitchell of Jackson, MO.; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Crystal and James Pulliam of Sikeston, MO., Melissa and Corey Fitzgerald of Sikeston, MO., Tiffany Hasting of Springfield, MO., Monica Gentry of Sikeston, MO., and Jessica “JJ” Gentry of Nashville, TN.; four brothers, Gary Gentry of Green Bay WI., Billy Gentry of Wapon, WI., Jerry Gentry of Sikeston, MO., and Michael Gentry of Sikeston, MO.; three sisters, Barbara Smith of Charleston, MO., Debbie White of Sikeston, MO., Tammy Heavener of Sikeston, MO.; 11 grandchildren and numerous foster children.
Visitation will be Sunday August 6, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. The funeral service will be Monday August 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. with Bro. Ira Sandefer, pastor of Smith St. Church of God and Bro. Austin Maxwell, officiating. Interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
