She was born on January 18, 1949 in Dogwood, MO. to the late James and Ella Heath Smith.
On January 22, 1967 in Sikeston, MO. she married Gary Dean Harper who survives of the home in East Prairie, MO.
Kitty was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Bertrand, MO. She worked at Barnett Family Eyecare in Sikeston, MO. until her retirement.
Kitty enjoyed first and foremost spending time with all her family members rather it be hosting family dinner or attending the kids and grandkids extra-curricular activities. She was loved by everyone who knew her and never met a stranger. She embraced anyone she spoke with from any and all walks of life. She had many life-long friendships and will be deeply missed and loved by many.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Gary (Alicia) Harper of East Prairie, MO. and Lance (Chassey) Harper of East Prairie, MO.; one brother, John Smith of White House, TN.; one sister, Becky (Charlie) Anderson of Tucson, AZ.; nine grandchildren, Kalyn (Bobbi) Harper, Jordan (Conner) Tenkhoff, Maddy Harper, Madelyn (Rex) LaPlant, Mary Grace Garnett, Ashton Harper, Emma Harper, Charlee Harper and Daxx Harper; four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Harper, Jacey Harper, Hadley Christian and Baylor Tenkhoff; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; five sisters and one sister-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Jennifer Brashear, pastor of Church of God of Prophecy in Bertrand, MO., officiating.
Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery in Dogwood, MO.
Pallbearers will be Kalyn Harper, Ashton Harper, Conner Tenkhoff, Jason Massey, Les Harper and Dr. Steven Barnett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Harper, Paul Harper, John Netteler and Ronnie Crumley.
