Barbara Ross

She was born on April 6, 1938, in Memphis, TN to the late Raymond and Helen Wiggins Ashley.

On May 31, 1959, in Lilbourn, MO she married Aubrey “Neal” Ross who passed away on October 16, 2022.

Barbara was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston, MO. She was an art teacher and home economics teacher at Lilbourn High School until 1975. She was an artist, she loved painting with oil and watercolor paints; she enjoyed playing cards with friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Tara (David) Gelsheimer of Benton, MO and Renee’ (Tim) Williams of Sikeston, MO; one son, Ashley (Sara) Ross of Knoxville, TN; seven grandchildren, Ross Gelsheimer, Austin Gelsheimer, Colton Young, Ashton Young, Aubrey Ann Ross, Preston Ross and Sterling Ross and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Ashley.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO.

A private burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.
