HAKE, Mildred Agnes “Millie”, Shubenacadie / Nine Mile River, Passed away December 29, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Windsor Forks, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ellie (Wile) Conrad. Millie started working at Wolfville Theater in her youth and then moved to Halifax and was employed at Sears for several years as a clerk in the handbag department. Millie was owner and operator of Canadian Cone Crafts store in Shubenacadie opening in 1965 and created crafts for department stores and hotels in Halifax. She was a resident of Nine Mile River since 1992. Survived by her partner Victor Sutherland, daughter Carolyn (John) Miller, Little Harbour, Pictou County; grandchildren Michael Miller and Hallee Gratto, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Hake, sister Alena Peterson, brothers Frank Conrad and Roy Conrad. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 1 pm, Thursday, January 5, followed by a reception all in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev.
