Frederick Arthur John Henry Hensler

HENSLER, Frederick Arthur John Henry – 71, Stewiacke, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. He was a son of the late James and Lillian Maynard. Fred joined the RCAF at a young age, later working for Air Canada in Toronto and Halifax. Fred found great joy in his life with family, friends and music. He loved to travel with his wife of 26 years, Shawn Emma Ruth (nee Eustace). He took great pleasure going to his numerous jam sessions and playing the guitar and dobro with his friends at various venues. During their winters in Florida, Fred made many musical friends in different parks in Zephyrhills. Music was his comfort and his passion. Fred had many hours of joy with his very talented friends: Bette, Carol, Catherine and Ron and will be remembered fondly by all. Fred is survived by his wife Shawn, daughters EagleSpirit, Michele Rowland (Derek), Jodie MacIlreith (Robert); sisters Jane Barkey (Gordon) and Carmen Laidley (Bruce); brother Philip Maynard; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Hensler. The family extends a special thank you to Fred’s palliative care team (Dr. Smith, Dawn and Sue) and Rev. Lloyd Ripley for his spiritual guidance. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home. No visitation by request. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 21, in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Stewiacke, Rev. Lloyd Ripley officiating.
