HUNTER, Doris May It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of our devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (Mum, Gran and great- Gran) Doris May Hunter (nee Buck), on September 3, 2010. Born on May 1st, 1925 in Carshalton, England, she was the daughter of the late William and Grace (Greenslade) Buck. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A humble, patient, warm, giving and caring individual, Doris was a woman of contagious optimism, good humour, enthusiasm, and compassion for others- she was the heart of her family. She touched the lives of so many people with her laughter, her smile, her warmth and her enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life, and she had a special affinity with young children. She will be lovingly remembered for her countless quiet and discrete acts of kindness over the years- this is her legacy. She lived and died with quiet strength and humility. Family members who remember her with love and gratitude for her life and nurturing are: Sons Jim (Nancy), Elmsdale NS; Bob (Connie), La Ronge, Sask.; Daughters Charmaine McInnis (Dave Hunnisett), Eastbourne, UK; Susan (Bill) Snow, Fall River, NS, Thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren. She was predeceased by first husband Claude, second husband Fred; sisters Margaret, Joan and Grace; beloved son Tommy in infancy; precious grandson Todd, in youth; and son -in -law, John McInnis. She will be sadly missed and forever loved and remembered. Cremation has taken place under the care of Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie and in keeping with Doris’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services. Final disposition of her remains will take place at a private graveside ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to the Osteoporosis Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or Make a Wish Foundation.
