Funeral Services for William “Bill” Taylor, 74 of Shreveport will be held 2pm Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Chaplain Chris Hough of St. Joseph. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21 at the funeral home.
Bill was born January 26, 1945 in Gross Dohern, Germany and passed away in his Shreveport home on Friday January the 17th. Bill graduated from Northwestern University in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in Science. He proudly served six years in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Vietnam War. Bill retired from Pennzoil/Calumet as Chief Inspector after 37 years of dedicated service, where he made many lifelong friends. In the early 90’s he began B&B Blueberry Farm with his late wife Barbara, and enjoyed operating it until late last year. He was fortunate to find love again with Judith Lee and shared over 10 years hunting, fishing, and going on cruises together. Bill will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend.
Preceding Bill in death were his wife Barbara, his parents Howard and Marguerite Taylor, and step-son Shane Lisenbea. He is survived by wife Judi, sons Michael and Jonathan, step-son Conley Lisenbea and his wife Connie, brother Wesley and his wife Jill, sister Karen Adams and husband Arnold, brother-in-law Randy Lee and his wife Kay, sister-in-law Gina Graves, and mother-in-law Mary Lee, as well as by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to Dr. Kirton Koticha and staff at Christus Schumpert Highland, the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice Care, and caregivers Pam and Brenda for all of their guidance and compassion through his battle with cancer.
Pallbearers will be dear friends Wayne Ruesch, Ken Brown, Drake Jacobs, David Sipes, Leon Borgue, and Buzz Wallace. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you donate to the St. Joseph’s Hospice Foundation.
