William Fredrick Petty Jr.

A celebration of the life memorial for Fred will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fred's memory may be made to Shiner's Children's Hospital of Shreveport.

William Fredrick Petty, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on April 30, 2022 surrounded by family at the age of 79. Fred, as family and friends knew him, was born, January 8. 1943 in Monroe, Louisiana to Thelma and William Petty, Sr.

Fred was a man of many talents and careers. His proudest career accomplishment was being a science teacher for 20+ years. He was a faithful and devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. He had many loves and passions including: building models, cooking, photography, drawing, video games, computers, and traveling. But his biggest love was for his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters Penny Layne Rabinovich and her husband, Kyrenda Michelle Petty; step-daughter's April Marie Woods and her husband, Sarah Ann Powell and her husband; grandchildren JoHannah Lynn Rabinovich, Eli David Woods, Evie Marie Woods and Alayna Marie Powell; along with a host of extended family members and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Bettinna Virginia Petty, and previous wife Mary Petty and his parents Thelma and William Petty, Sr.
