William Talton Locke was born February 13, 1926 in Cedar Grove. His parents were Linden L. Locke and Blanche Lee Locke. He passed away October 13, 2017 in Shreveport. He graduated from Byrd High School in 1942. William served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Rushmore (LSD 13) in WWII and the U.S.S. Essex (CV9) in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass Co. after 30 years and from A.T.T. Technologies after 16 years. He married Ophelia Foster on November 1, 1946.
Mr. Locke is preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia, four siblings and one grandson, Adam. He is survived by his four children, William Locke and wife Debbie, Karen Powell, Michael Locke and wife Deborah, and Curtis Locke and wife Kelly; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. William Talton Locke will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Opbroek. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time.
