Bill was born on May 23, 1947 in Evanston, Illinois and went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Winter was a dedicated and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bill was known to friends and family as a friendly, energetic and warm hearted soul. He graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. Following graduation, he attended Southern Technical College in Shreveport, Louisiana and obtained an associate’s degree in Electronics Technology. Bill was a member of a rock band called, “The Mauds” who had a hit record featuring the song, “Hold On”. Bill worked as a Network Analyst at International Paper for 16 years. He also enjoyed camping and jet skiing. Mr. Winter will be remembered for his love and zest for life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Irwin Clinton Winter and his mother, Helen Louise Jones Winter.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Deborah McGraw Winter of Shreveport, LA; mother-in-law Ruby Crawford; son, Christopher Wayne Johnston and wife Yuzuka of Gulf Breeze, FL; daughter, Laura Winter Duggins of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Victoria Louise Winter and Suzanne Winter; one brother, Peter Edmond Winter; four grandchildren, Natalie Creel, Summer Johnston, Braden Milam and Easton Duggins, and two nephews, Michael Winter and Matthew Edmond Winter.
