Shreveport, LA- Funeral services for Thomas Neal Jordan, Sr., 70, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. James Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Mr. Jordan was born January 26, 1942, in Leesville, LA and entered into rest December 21, 2012 in Shreveport. Neal was a 1961 graduate of Fair Park High School in Shreveport. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 3 years after which he was in the National Guard Reserves. Neal was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, American Legion, Moose Lodge, 40/8 Club and the VFW. He was also a Mason and Shriner. Neal volunteered much of his time for several organizations. They include AUX Police, Irish McNeil’s Sports for Boys, working with HAP House and the Wheeler Dealers. He was also instrumental in the founding of Camp Rainman for Autistic Children. Neal loved the outdoors, gardening, caring for his animals, and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.J. and Lela Jordan; brother, Ray Jordan, sister, Louise Thomason, and a son, Thomas Neil Jordan, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jon Bruce, Trinity Brown, Ernie Velasco, A.J. O’Con, Barry Reynolds and Doug Boutlier.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Mary Hill “Susie” Jordan; daughter, Carrie “Sam” Youngblood; son, Joseph Ray “Joey” Jordan and wife Tessa; daughter-in-law, Carmen Jordan; two brothers, Ronnie Jordan, Roy Jordan and wife Belinda; sisters, Jean Rawls and husband Rollin; Linda Miller, Barbara Lum and husband Alvin, and Kay Rinaudo; grandchildren, Amanda Foster and husband Chris, James Youngblood, Rebekah Fatheree, Katie and Jacob Jordan, Eli, Lauren, Lela, and Noah Jordan.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Janie Judd for her love and care throughout Neal’s illness.
