Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Thomas Vincent Hannigan, Jr., 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. James Hill and Dr. Larry Williams. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Hannigan was born on August 17, 1925 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on June 12, 2016. Tom was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a very selfless man who gave of his time, care and hardwork to anyone who needed it. Mr. Hannigan went on many mission trips to Bayou Du Large, worked with the Rescue Mission and volunteered his services to many churches throughout the area. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and served as the teacher of the Titus Men’s Sunday School Class. Tom served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy U.D.T. (Navy Seals) during WWII earning a purple heart, a silver star and two bronze stars.
Mr. Hannigan was preceded in death by his parents, Delta and Thomas Vincent Hannigan, Sr.; his children’s mother, Phyllis Hannigan and his daughter, Ann Booty.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Tom is his wife, Amelia “Trip” Hannigan; children, Phyllis Hill and husband James, Patti Shaw and husband Neil and Ronnie Hannigan and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Lance Hill, Lonnie Hill, Breck Scott, Julie Harper, Casey Hannigan, Lori Hannigan, Becky Lary, Leigh Woodruff and Lesley Amos; 17 great grandchildren and a brother, Bob Hannigan.
Honoring Mr. Hannigan as pallbearers will be: Lance Hill, Lonnie Hill, Breck Scott, Casey Hannigan, Mike Hannigan and Lawson Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Titus Men’s Sunday School Class at Broadmoor Baptist Church.
