Stanley Dumas Davis, 87, a native of Dubach, LA and a resident of Stonewall, LA passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Betty Jo, his parents Gus and Pearl Davis and his sister Lonez Barteet. Survivors include daughters Kathy Willcutt and husband Allen, Sr of Zachary, LA and Donna Tupper of Fort Worth, TX; sons Stanley (Joe) Davis and wife Bonnie and R. Scott Davis and wife Tricia; sisters Jane Carter and Beryl Futch all of Shreveport, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Davis was a member of Queensborough Masonic Lodge #418 for over 50 years, an Army veteran of WWII, and a retired employee with Otis Elevator. Mr. Davis was a member of Quail Unlimited for many years. He was well known in the quail hunting community both for his love of raising champion dogs and his honest appraisal of judging at field trials. He truly lived for the hunt of the delicious quail. He will be sorely missed by many in the quail hunting community and by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at Centuries Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 5pm until 7pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:30pm in Centuries Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Services will be presided over by Rev. Rick Edmonds. Pallbearers will be Allen Willcutt Jr., Michael Willcutt, Adam Davis, Brian Davis, Jacob Knight, Ryan Krug, Lane Killebrew, Jeremy Killebrew and Richard Barteet. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Davis’ great grandsons. The family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at the Willis-Knighton Chemo Center and Willis-Knighton North 5th floor.
