Sarah retired after working many years as a court clerk. She loved being with family and especially loved sewing for them. She was a faithful member of Providence Road Baptist Church for many years. She loved playing the piano and was a church pianist in several churches. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Lady Shrine. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elby Cagle and Robbie Dixon Cagle, and her husband John E. Smith.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Becky Nissen (Joel), son Wayne "Bubba" Smith (Karla), and Jerry Smith (fiancee' Tina Chamberlain); sister, Elayne Bennett. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
A Visitation for Sarah will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Chris Young officiating. Interment will take place at Centuries Memorial Park.
