Celebration of Life services for Mr. Robert (Bob) Dale Griffin, 80, will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Centuries Memorial Chapel with Pastor Trey Lewis of Kingston Road Baptist Church officiating. The family will be receiving guests for visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at Centuries.
Mr. Griffin was born April 12, 1931, in Queen City, Texas, to the late Felton Alexander and Edna Lena Bobo Griffin and was called to his eternal home April 26, 2011, in Batesville, Mississippi. Mr. Griffin served this grateful nation by joining the U.S. Air Force and retired as a MSgt. and held the position of Radar Tech. Mr. Griffin was a Master Mason with the 32nd Degree in Spain and he had the opportunity to show his marksmanship skills during a 500 round skeet shoot. Mr. Griffin enjoyed playing the guitar, and loved listening to his country music. Mr. Griffin will be remembered as a loving father, caring grandfather, doting great-grandfather and devoted friend to those who knew him.
Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Janie Stout Griffin; one sister, Dorothy Still; and one brother-in-law, Lloyd Still. Left to cherish Bob’s memory and tell his stories will be his four children, Rhonda Griffin Curtis, Deborah Griffin Honnoll and husband David, Felton Griffin and wife Zandra, and Gary Griffin; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members and many great friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Honnoll, Randy Curtis, Jeremy Mier, and David Honnoll. Acting pallbearers will be the Military.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Griffin to a charity of donor’s choice.
