Robert Floyd Alamond Sr. was born in Epps, LA to Albert and Ella Alamond on January 14, 1942 as the second of four children. At the age of 12 he was thrust into the role of Man-of-the-House due to the passing of his father. At the age of 23 while enlisted in the Army, he proposed over the phone to a woman which he had never met in person. On May 21, 1966, at the age of 24, he married the love of his life, Eva Carol Westmoreland.
Mr. Robert F. Alamond Sr. is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ella Alamond, wife of 53 years Eva Carol Alamond and his brother, Norman Wayne Alamond.
Mr. Robert Alamond Sr. is survived by his sons Robert Alamond Jr., George Alamond and wife Connie Alamond, sister Betty Joe Dennis, brother Louis Alamond and wife Linda Alamond, grandchildren Blake, Kyler, Kaleb, Colton, Braden, Karadyn and one great grandchild Austin Parker.
Robert F. Alamond Sr. loved his wife, his two sons, his daughter-in-law and grandkids more than life itself. However, he loved another above all else; and that was his love for GOD. Even through all the trials and tribulations throughout his life, he praised GOD. Never once thru his loss of a loved one, financial difficulty, health diagnosis or any other misfortunes did he venture away, ask why, or question GOD’s plan. He was a Deacon of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church for over 45 years.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren Blake, Kyler, Kaleb, Colton, Braden, Karadyn and as Honorary pallbearer, his great grandson Austin Parker.
“Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.”
The family of Robert F. Alamond wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all those who have showed love and support over the past 8 months after the passing of his beloved wife, his church family of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, and the staff of Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home.
