Rick Owen Richard

Rick Owen Richard, 65, of Shreveport, passed away on June 23,2024. He born on October 25, 1958, in Shreveport, Rick was the son of Richard (Dickey) O. Richard and the late Sandra T. Richard. Rick graduated from Southwood High School in 1976. Upon graduating, he entered the United States Marine Corps, where he served proudly from 1976 to 1980. After his honorable discharge from the Corps, Rick worked at a number of jobs over the years, including a long-term stint at Thompson Industries and most recently as a driver for a medical transportation company. He was recently retired.

His interests were diverse, ranging from avid reading to a passion for history, particularly world and U.S. history, with a deep fascination for the Civil War era. He was also a devoted firearm enthusiast.

Rick will be remembered for his love of family and leaves behind his son Anthony Ross Richard, his father Richard (Dickey) O. Richard, brothers Steve Richard and Scott Richard, nephew Landon Richard, and niece Lauren Richard Kron. He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra T. Richard and his ex-wife Connie Perricone Richard.

Rick's warmth, knowledge, and kindness touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to honor Rick's life will be held at a later time.
